Acas Chief Exec, Susan Clews, said:

"We welcome the measures announced today that aim to promote modern day workplace practices through new legislation.

"Recent legal cases that have involved gig working have shown that employment status is a complex issue and greater clarity is needed in this area.

"We look forward to working with the Government and other partners to help develop advice and guidance on any new changes to employment legislation. The importance of good work for all is central to Acas' aims and services, to encourage and support fair and productive employment relations."
